Making a Difference  act!onaid

Every pound you raise makes a vital difference to the lives of some of the world's poorest children, families and communities.
ActionAid is committed to striving for a world without poverty in which every person can exercise  their right to a life of dignity. Our long term work with poor communities is aimed at helping not just the present generation, but also their children and grandchildren.

So whilst we are continuing to help the poorest communities in the world get a better education, healthcare and access to food and clean water, we are enabling them to learn the skills needed to bring lasting change to their lives. With this knowledge comes the confidence to organise themselves and make their voices heard so that they can achieve the rights we take for granted !

Bramham resident Gillian Lawson is taking part in a trek to the Himalayas in November 2005 to raise funds for ActionAid - anyone willing to sponsor Gillian please contact her on 01937 844858.

Money raised from the Himalayan trek will help ActionAid's work wherever the need is greatest.

If you have any items/plants which you would be willing to donate to the Open Garden event please contact Tess Ferres on 01937 845274.
