Historic Bramham Village is situated in the county of West Yorkshire - England.
It lies 8 miles West of York on the A1 trunk road and is within the city boundaries of Leeds.
The village dates back to Roman times and has many Saxon, Norman and English Civil War connections. Please enjoy your visit, whilst  remembering that the site is still under construction.

Brough Aircraft Factory Visit
Mr Robert Blackburn Of Bowcliffe Hall owned this factory and a visit was arranged for the Bramham Derby and Joan Club in the 1950's. Mesdames Eastwood Tindall Wright Peacock Levitt, Smith, Clayton Almond, Alcock, Harrison, Mr 'and Mrs Ware .Mr and Mrs Bullard, Mr and Mrs Dalton, Mr Winterburn and .Mr Scott.
 

Old Folks' Shelter
Lady Bingley (seated) performed the opening ceremony on 17 April 1900.
 It was built by men of the village. Visible on the picture from left to right are The Hon Mrs Lane Fox, Mrs ,Jones, Mrs Clayton, Col Lane Fox and Mr Webster. It is owned and maintained by the Parish Council and is used now for Parish Council Meetings and by the Senior Citizens as a meeting place.

The field is now part of the A1, but used to be where the children of the village did their sledging.
 

A Cottage on Almshouse Hill in 1955 and 1965

Many of the cottages in Bramham have been con­verted and modernised over the years, as these clip­pings from newspapers show. The photograph above appeared in The Express on 14 October 1955, and the one opposite illustrated an article by Ronald Wilkinson in an unidentified newspaper, probably in 1965.

Town Hill and The Crag
This view‑ from Bramham Parish Church tower shows the houses on The Crag and Town Hill, now demolished. The stone archway on The Crag can he seen adjoining the former coaching inn. This photograph was taken in the mid‑1950’s.
